Salvation seems too
hard for any one man!
The world’s view of salvation provides
no rest for the weary child of God.
TRUTH: this is the work of God (Jhn 6:29), who finished salvation,
draws His elect people, sanctifies and seals them, preserving their in-
heritance - which Peter tells us cannot be corrupted, defiled or fade
away. If it’s reserved in heaven for us, how could we lose it here?
1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of
Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. :3 Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy
hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead, :4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that
fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, :5 Who are kept by the power of
God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
We are kept by the power of God. (1Pe 1:5)
Our eternal inheritance is also. The bride of Christ has been chosen to sal-
vation, and begotten again to an inheritance, and preserved. The Lord will
perform the good work He has begun in us (Phil 1:6) and we can rest in his
complete work. We have these assurances in John 10:28 And I give unto
them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck
them out of my hand. :29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all;
and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. While John tells
us we have this salvation now in 1John 5:13, the full enjoyment of it comes
at the redemption of these bodies. Until then, we know we are heirs and
enjoy the earnest of our inheritance. Eph 1:14.
