Also 2Ti 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the
elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salva-
tion which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
The elect have their eternal salvation secure. The promises of God
are yea, and amen. Our eternal security, our eternal life, says we will
NEVER perish. Yet Paul teaches in 2 Tim 2:10 there is a salvation we
can also obtain. (Also meaning in additional to our eternal salvation.)
In other words, a salvation that can be enjoyed now - living in obedience
as a disciple of Christ. From that position, we can fall away.
We are always children of God, but
we aren’t always obedient children.
His promises are secure.
