Eternally Saved
One Day, Lost the Next
How frustrating and heart-
breaking it must be to God’s chil-
dren to think their eternal salva-
tion little more than a passing
phase. To believe God has the
power to save one eternally, but
not believe He has sufficient
power to keep that one for whom
He died safe? Incredible.
God’s people can fall a long way in this lifetime, and many may view that
fall as a death, but in reality, it’s only a death to the fellowship of God’s chil-
dren and the joys that are to be found in this earthly church kingdom by obe-
dience and keeping our bodies under subjection.
John 10:28 tells us plainly that those to whom Christ gave eternal
life shall never perish, and that they shall not be plucked out of His
hand or His Father’s hands. One of God’s elect, once regenerated,
once brought to life, can never return to a state of condition of death
in trespasses and in sins.
