Approximately “5.9 Cubits”
Nowhere in scripture is Goliath called a giant, but his actual height
and mentions of his brothers lead us to draw that conclusion. At six
cubits and a span, Goliath would have been about 9 feet, six inches
tall. Quite the imposing figure. New translations and some histori-
cal documents measure him at 4 cubits, knocking him down to a less
impressive 6 foot 9. We prefer the King James record.
